Zip Code Requirement FAQs

Questions regarding the recent update around the patient Zip Code requirement for Direct Search and Universal Search.

Written by Jonathan Camara

What will it look like?
You'll now see the Zip Code in the initial screen when you add the patients full name and DOB to make it easier to enter.

Why are we making this change?
To improve matching accuracy and increase eligibility success rates

What if I don't enter in the Zip Code?

Any eligibility check without the Zip Code will not be processed

Can I enter in any Zip Code?

You'll need to enter in the Zip Code on file for the patient. If the correct Zip Code isn't used, the patient may not be found.

Do we enter in the patient's Zip Code, or the primary member's Zip Code?
If the patient is the primary, you'll just need to enter in their Zip Code. If the patient is a dependent and lives at another address from the primary member, you'll need to enter in both Zip Codes (patient Zip Code under their information; primary Zip Code under their information)

What if the patient was already added prior to this change?
Once you refresh the benefits, our system will request the Zip Code (If you didn't store the address, we can pull the information with any claim that was submitted)

What if all the information is correctly entered and still came back unverified?
Reach out to our team with the ANAGRAM ID and we can investigate the cause.

Will this increase the amount of eligibility checks that fail?
No! It should improve match rates.
